The Vietnam Water Partnership is a network which liaises governmental agencies, institutions, social organizations, professional associations, water services, river basin organizations, businesses, media, scientists and water users active in the fields of water resources for the cooperation in views of sustainable protection and development of water resources in Vietnam and for the integration into the network of the Global Water Partnership (GWP) and Southeast Asia Water Partnership (GWP-SEA).

The Vietnam Water Partnership is the only network in Vietnam which is accredited by GWP and GWP-SEA.

Duties

VNWP has the following duties:

1. To participate to propagating, promoting the practice and practicing the principles of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in views of sustainable protection and development of water resources in Vietnam.

2. To cooperate with GWP and GWP-SEA, to implement and participate to the implementation of GWP and GWP-SEA work programs in Vietnam.

3. To contribute to heightening Vietnam role and fostering regional and global integration in water related activities.

Activities:

VNWP has the following modes of activity:

1.      Dialogues, forums, workshops on IWRM topics with encouragement of new initiatives in propagating and practicing IWRM.

2.       Studies of IWRM topics and integration of IWRM principles into in-country regular activities.

3.       IWRM capacity building, awareness raising and on-the-job training in network professional operation.

4.       Information exchange on IWRM practices in Vietnam and elsewhere under forms of website, data-base, documents and others.
